Welcome to our school website. Kestrel Mead is situated in the growing area of Hamilton on the outskirts of Leicester City. We are a vibrant, caring and aspirational primary school catering for children between the ages of three and eleven. We are proud to be a school across 2 school sites, with one school ethos.

The infant school site caters for children from Nursery to Year 2. Our Junior school site serves our Year 3-6 children.

On the infant site we also have a 12 place KS1 special needs unit for children with ASD called ‘The Nest’ and a 10 place KS1 SEN unit for pupils awaiting special school placements  called ‘The Nook’. These placements are not allocated by Kestrel Mead but by the special needs service at Leicester City admissions.

We welcome enquiries to the school; for prospective pupils, interested parents and professionals who would like to see our pedagogy and curriculum offer in practice. We have structured open mornings and can arrange visits for professionals with prior warning.

Although most of our parent communication and sharing of good work is now done through a closed platform (Class Dojo) you can get a taste of the events that take place within school on the community page of the website.

The local statistics show that we are the first choice local primary school in our area and we believe that this is testament to the exceptional educational and pastoral offer that we give to pupils and parents.
